About Thousand Heart Portraits
Hi! my name is Jimin Lee. I started this project in April 2024 with a passion for art. I create hand-drawn digital portraits for first responders, healthcare workers, senior homes, and other community heroes, free of charge, to bring joy to the families and communities around us. This project was created to thank our heroes and honor their hard work and dedication with beautiful keepsake portraits.
About the Founder
When a close friend of mine was diagnosed with cancer, both our families were heartbroken. I wanted to do something that might lift their spirits, so I drew a portrait of her doing what she loved most–playing the guitar. When I gave it to her family and saw their faces light up, I truly felt how powerful art can be in bringing people comfort and joy. Ever since, I've loved using art to give back to others; It brings me joy to help people feel seen, appreciated, and connected through small but meaningful moments.
